Hygiene Program

Lack of water and sanitation is one of the biggest issues affecting the health of children across Cambodia, particularly those who live in the countryside. Too many children still do not have access to safe water or toilet facilities. The consequences for children are severe, as the lack of hygiene causes high occurrences of diarrhoea, skin disease, respiratory illnesses adn other waterborne diseases.

New Bridge tries to improve hygiene in the rural areas by constructing water wells and pumps, toilet and hand washing facilities, as well as monitoring the water quality. Besides providing these .. New Bridge also tries to increase the awareness of hygiene practices. It does so by communicating key hygiene practices such as hand washing with soap, using toilets, treating and drinking safe water.
